PSG will lock horns with Real Madrid, while Atletico Madrid and Manchester United square off against each other in the Champions League Round of 16 fixtures. Real last met the Parisian outfit in the 2019-20 edition of the competition. They lost 3-0 in Paris and could only muster a draw in the reverse fixture. The marquee clash pits PSG defender Sergio Ramos against his former club. Also, Lionel Messi will be facing a Spanish side for the first time since leaving FC Barcelona in the summer.
Reigning Spanish champions Atletico Madrid and Manchester United will be meeting in Europe after a gap of 30 years. Both sides haven't been impressive in their respective domestic leagues this season.
In the other fixtures, Chelsea, the defending champions, will meet French Ligue 1 side LOSC Lille. Manchester City and Liverpool take on Sporting CP and Inter Milan, respectively. German giants Bayern Munich will face FC Salzburg, who became the first Austrian side to reach the knockout stage of the Champions League. The impressive AFC Ajax and Juventus will play against SL Benfica and Villarreal FC, respectively.
The first legs of Round of 16 will take place on February 15,16, 22, and 23, while the return legs are scheduled for March 8, 9, 15, and 16.
