Q & A:
Fantasy tips and tricks: Should I pick more bowlers, batsmen or all-rounders?
The batsmen in the Indian T20 Cricket League 2022 have increasingly found their job difficult in order to get runs here at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, where scores of around 150 have been put up five out of the last six innings of three matches. Both spin bowlers and fast bowlers have been able to take wickets in equal numbers which means batsmen will have to bring out their ‘A’ game forward in order to aim for a big total. Having a balanced team consisting of in-form batsmen along with the right mix of spin and fast bowlers will be the right approach to make your fantasy cricket XI for the clash between Chennai and Bangalore on Tuesday night.
Fantasy tips: From which team should I pick more players in my XI? Which team is stronger?
Bangalore are presently sitting at the fourth spot in the points table for the Indian T20 Cricket League 2022 having recorded 3 victories in 4 matches so far, which is a far better performance than the defending champions Chennai who are languishing at the bottom of the table with 4 consecutive defeats and no point in their bag yet. Bangalore have their batsmen as well as bowlers performing in unison and they have been able to pull off favourable results in their favour, something that has been a shortcoming of the Ravindra Jadeja-led Chennai. For this contest, Bangalore are certainly the stronger side, given their current form and team composition, and should have more players featuring in the fantasy cricket playing XI.
MORE INFORMATION: Bangalore will be without the services of their ace fast bowler Harshal Patel who has left the biosecure bubble of the Indian T20 Cricket League team in order to rush back home following the unfortunate demise of his sister. While Bangalore will miss the services of Harshal Patel, his absence for the clash on Tuesday means there is a chance for the team to test its bench strength, which has been bolstered with the availability of Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood. Among the Indian bowlers to replace Harshal Patel, Bangalore can take the experienced Siddarth Kaul or Chama Milind.
PLAYERS’ FORM: Bangalore wicketkeeper-batsman Anuj Rawat scored a match-winning 66 against Mumbai in the previous match to announce this form after ordinary returns with the bat earlier in the tournament. Much to their surprise and satisfaction, Bangalore also have their former captain V Kohlii back among runs and they will expect the run machine to get back to his absolute best as the tournament progresses further. For Chennai, the lack of runs from Ruturaj Gaikwad is a massive concern given that there is a lot riding on the young Indian batsman who was one of the highest run-scorers in their victorious campaign last season.

Bangalore look to pile further misery on struggling Chennai
With their backs pressed firmly against the wall following four consecutive defeats at the start of the 2022 edition of the Indian T20 Cricket League, Chennai will look to come out firing on all cylinders against the Bangalore in the Match No 22 to be played at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Tuesday night.
While Bangalore are sitting pretty at the fourth spot in the points table for the Indian T20 Cricket League, Chennai are currently languishing at the bottom without having recorded a single victory and having the worst Net Run Rate (NRR) among all teams of -1.211.
It is not that Chennai have played as poorly as they did in the 2020 edition in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), but their failure to pull off favourable results has been a major concern and reason behind them losing all their matches so far. Chennai have not been outplayed in any of the matches so far, they have largely remained competitive and aggressive, but still there are a lot of factors that have not worked in their favour.
The biggest concern for Chennai going into the clash against Bangalore is the form of their star opening batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad, who was finally able to get into double digits against Hyderabad in their previous match but could not build on a strong start.
Chennai were heavily dependent on the senior batsmen Robin Uthappa and Ambati Rayudu, especially now that they do not have the services of dogged batsmen like Faf du Plessis and Suresh Raina to bail the team out of troubles more often than not.
The likes of M Dhonii and Shivam Dube have been able to make a mark with the bat in the tournament so far, but their knocks have largely gone in vain since the team has not been able to put together a unified effort. In the bowling department, Chennai have lacked depth since they are yet to make a mark here as well.
On the other hand, despite the absence of Harshal Patel who will certainly miss the match against Chennai on Tuesday, Bangalore will be confident of a possible victory against a team that is struggling on all fronts.
Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis started off the tournament with a brilliant knock of 88 but since then he has not been able to get any big score, which would certainly bother a team yet to win a title in the competition. At the same time, the return of V Kohlii among runs will be a crucial factor for Bangalore, who are bolstered by a match-winning 66 from the wicket-keeper batsman Anuj Rawat.
