St Kitts & Nevis Patriots (SKN) and Saint Lucia Kings (SLK) meet in the top-of-the-table clash in Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2021 match 17. Faf du Plessis’ 60-ball 120* and Roston Chase’s quickfire half-century led Saint Lucia Kings to a crushing 100-run win over St Kitts & Nevis Patriots on Saturday. The defeat ended the league leaders’ unbeaten run in the tournament.
Evin Lewis will be keen to continue his impressive run with the bat after registering 30-plus scores in four of the six innings in CPL 2021 so far. He scored a fantastic 73 against St Lucia Kings but failed to get support from other batters. St Kitts & Nevis Patriots bowling unit had a match to forget as they conceded 224 runs in 20 overs. Apart from Fawad Ahmed, the rest faced the wrath of Du Plessis and Chase.
Du Plessis became the third overseas player to score a hundred in CPL. An unbeaten 114 for the third wicket from Du Plessis and Chase helped Saint Lucia Kings post a mammoth total. Alzarri Joseph was excellent with the ball as he dismissed Devon Thomas and Chris Gayle in the powerplay. Keemo Paul, too, grabbed a three-wicket haul and helped Saint Lucia Kings register a stellar win.
