The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2021 match 7 seven pits Saint Lucia Kings (SLK) against Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) in a rematch of the last season’s final.
Isuru Udana wreaked havoc to help Trinbago Knight Riders pick up their first two points in the new season. The Sri Lanka all-rounder grabbed his maiden five-wicket haul in T20 as they dismissed Barbados Royals for 122. They lost four wickets early in the run-chase. But Kieron Pollard and Denesh Ramdin steered the franchise home after an unbeaten 87 for the fifth wicket.
A horror outing for bowlers saw Saint Lucia Kings suffer the biggest defeat in the CPL history. The Saint Lucia Kings bowlers had a struggle after putting Jamaica Tallawahs into bat first. Apart from Roston Chase, all other bowlers conceded more than ten runs per over. At the end of 20 overs, the scorecard read 255/5. In the run-chase, Faf du Plessis-led team lost their five wickets for just 56 runs. Tim David’s half-century was the only respite in the 120-run defeat.
