Tottenham Hotspur (TOT) will be aiming to grab a fourth straight win at home when they lock horns with Aston Villa (AVL). Three points would virtually seal a top-seven finish for the London outfit in the 2020-21 English Premier League (EPL) season. Aston Villa, who narrowly avoided relegation last season, would be hoping for a top-half finish. They have to pick up maximum points from the remaining two games and hope tenth-placed Leeds United fails to pick up a win in their respective two fixtures.
Team news
The hosts are unlikely to make any changes to the squad that beat Wolves on Sunday. Interim manager Ryan Mason would be pleased to see Dele Alli return to form. The 25-year-old assisted Son Heung-min’s goal against Leeds United. Meanwhile, defensive midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was excellent against Wolves. He set up Harry Kane’s opener and registered his name in the goalscorers list. Full-back Serge Aurier is fit after suffering a muscle injury ahead of the Wolves game.
Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish could make his first start in three months. The playmaker, sidelined with a shin injury, grabbed ten assists in the league this season, and his return will be a boost for attacking trio Anwar El Ghazi, Bertrand Traore, and Ollie Watkins. Tyrone Mings is likely to be available for selection after missing Aston Villa’s last league match.
