At IS Bindra Stadium, Ravindra Jadeja fulfilled one of his biggest dreams - a hundred and a five-wicket haul in an innings. It was a remarkable feat by the 33-year-old, who made his red-ball debut for India nine years ago in Nagpur. Jadeja became the only sixth cricketer to score 150+ and take a five-wicket haul in the same Test match and the first player to do so since 1973. He also overtook Kapil Dev’s record of scoring the most runs while batting at No.7.
Rummy Bo fantasy cricket players, who had Jadeja as their captain, would be over the moon after the all-rounder put in a performance for ages. He scored 366 fantasy points in the match and became just the third player after New Zealand stand-in captain Tom Latham (350 points) and Australia’s Usman Khawaja (301 points) to score 300+ fantasy points in 2022.
Ashwin sizzles
Jadeja grabbed all the headlines in India's crushing win over the Island nation. But Ravichandran Ashwin, too, played a crucial role with both bat and ball. He struck a half-century, grabbed six wickets, and went past Kapil Dev’s tally of 434 wickets in Test cricket. With 185 fantasy points to his name, Ashwin remains a reliable fantasy cricket pick.
Fearless Pant
Rishabh Pant picked up from where he left off in South Africa, scoring a crucial run-a-ball 96. The knock paved the way for a giant total after India lost half their side with just 228 runs on the board. It was a second successive three-figure fantasy score for Pant in Test cricket. He amassed a total of 145 fantasy points in the match.
