Q & A:
Fantasy tips and tricks: Should I pick more bowlers, batsmen or all-rounders?
The Brabourne Stadium has traditionally supported batsmen and the story should not be any different on Friday night when a misfiring Punjab take on the Gujarat side led by Hardik Pandya, with the new Indian T20 Cricket League 2022 side winning both its matches so far. Punjab trounced Chennai in their last assignment in the tournament and they will draw a lot of confidence from the way they batted, unperturbed by early wickets to get a strong total on board. For the match between Punjab and Gujarat, an extended batting line-up with a potent fast bowling attack will be the right approach to make the fantasy cricket playing XI.
Fantasy tips: From which team should I pick more players in my XI? Which team is stronger?
There is not much that separates these two teams on paper. Both have exciting batting line-ups and their bowling attacks have also been able to make a mark in the Indian T20 Cricket League 2022 tournament. Punjab have played one game more than Gujarat and also have tasted a defeat, which the Hardik Pandya-led side is yet to. Punjab will want more runs from their captain Mayank Agarwal, while Gujarat will have similar expectations from their Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Matthew Wade. By the look of things and keeping in mind how they have gone about their tasks, the two teams look evenly matched for the contest on Friday night.
MORE INFORMATION: Jitesh Sharma resembled a lot with Sri Lanka cricket great Tillekaratne Dilshan in the way he played his strokes against Chennai, wherein he smacked a quickfire 26, giving a strong example of himself. Punjab will be pleased to see Jitesh Sharma making news in his debut game in Indian T20 Cricket League 2022. On the other hand, Gujarat would not want to tinker with their winning combination which has done its share of hard work to earn two wins at the start of the Indian T20 Cricket League 2022 competition.
PLAYERS’ FORM: Gujarat opener Shubman Gill roared back into form with a superb 84 that accounted for more than 50% of the runs his team scored against Delhi. With Gill in form, Gujarat will certainly breathe easy since they are not a side which bats deep and have a lot of options to pick from. The 4-wicket haul for Lockie Ferguson was indeed a shot in the arm for the new team on the block. For Punjab, Shikhar Dhawan has been among runs but he has not accumulated them in his usual, free-flowing and aggressive manner. Liam Livingstone’s counter-attacking 60 against Chennai came at the right time, which set the platform for Punjab’s win.

Gujarat look to continue winning form in game against Punjab
An unbeaten Gujarat will look to extend their winning streak in the Indian T20 Cricket League 2022 tournament on Friday night when they face Punjab in the Match No 16 at the Brabourne Stadium, having started off their journey with two impressive wins.
If Gujarat were made to work really hard for a win by Lucknow in their tournament opener, the Hardik Pandya-led side was more assured of their skills and convincing with their performances across departments in trumping a formidable Delhi in their last match.
On the other hand, Punjab managed to bounce back from their disappointing defeat against Kolkata to record their second consecutive win against the four-time winners and defending champions Chennai, who have lost three games on the trot this season.
Gujarat’s opener Shubman Gill announced his form with a superb 84 and set up a strong platform for his team’s win in their previous match against Delhi.
While Gujarat should be pleased with the way Gill batted, there were more positives in store as all of their batsmen barring Matthew Wade — who was dismissed for 1 — put up scores in double digits.
Lockie Ferguson took a superb 4-wicket haul to drive Gujarat to a memorable win, from which they can draw a lot of confidence going into the clash against Punjab, who have been a little erratic this year so far but still have 2 wins to show from 3 matches.
The Mayank Agarwal-led side will look to continue with their strong displays across departments after beating Chennai by a huge margin of 54 runs — a victory set up by Liam Livingstone’s whirlwind 60 and 2 wickets later in the game along with yet another impressive spell by India spinner Rahul Chahar (4-0-25-3).
Vaibhav Arora made an impressive start claiming 4-0-21-2 whereas Kagiso Rabada continued to feature among runs and wickets, which is a great sign for Punjab going ahead in the tournament.
Punjab adopted the strategy of playing aggressive cricket with both bat and ball which got them the desired result against Chennai, as despite making a shaky start which had them losing a couple of wickets right at the start, they managed to put up a challenging total and eventually won by 54 runs.
