Faf du Plessis-led Northern Superchargers (NOS) and Jonny Bairstow’s Welsh Fire (WEF) will face each other in match 4 of The Hundred. Ben Stokes, Jimmy Neesham, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Qais Ahmad, Chris Lynn, and a few prominent domestic players will take the field at Headingley Cricket Ground tonight.

Harry Brook is the player to watch out for in the NOS squad. The 22-year-old is having an outstanding campaign with the bat in the Vitality Blast 2021, amassing 485 runs at a strike rate of 150. Yorkshire’s Adam Lyth and power-hitter Chris Lynn are likely to open the batting for NOS. Du Plessis and Stokes add more strength and experience in the batting line-up.
NOS has one of the best spin attacks in The Hundred. White-ball specialists Mujeeb and Adil Rashid, who grabbed a four-wicket haul against Pakistan recently, could make a huge impact. Uncapped Callum Parkinson is another spin option. The David Willey-led pace attack, too, has an exciting bunch of players – Brydon Carse, Matthew Potts, Jordan Thompson, Matthew Fisher, etc.
The Wales-based franchise will be relying on the trio of Bairstow, Tom Banton, and Glenn Phillips. Though Bairstow will depart after the second match, there is enough quality and depth in the WEF batting line-up. Wicket-keeper Ben Duckett and Leus du Plooy have combined scored more than 700 runs in Vitality Blast 2021.
Neesham and Liam Plunkett are the most experienced players in the bowling department. Jake Ball will be keen to extend his impressive run after picking up 18 wickets in nine matches in the Vitality Blast 2021. Meanwhile, Qais is the lone specialist spinner in the squad.
