Sam Billings-led Oval Invincibles will be hoping to live up to their name in the first edition of the Hundred. The 17-member squad, which will play its home games at The Oval, boasts experienced internationals and seasoned T20 campaigners. They also have a quality bowling line-up consisting of English players.
With Sunil Narine and Colin Ingram haven’t been impressive lately and Sandeep Lamichhane’s participation in doubt, the onus will be on domestic players in the roster. Opener Jason Roy will be hoping to find consistency, while uncapped Will Jacks and Laurie Evans combined scored 691 runs for Surrey in the ongoing Vitality Blast. Wicket-keeper Jordan Cox, too, has been amongst the runs in the T20 tournament.
Oval Invincibles has a wide variety of options in their bowling department. Saqib Mahmood, who has picked up 13 wickets in five matches against Pakistan, will be keen to continue his excellent form. Meanwhile, the Curran brothers – Sam Curran and Tom Curran – can make valuable contributions with bat and ball. Left-arm fast bowler Reece Topley will be hopeful of playing a few matches as the 27-year-old is recovering from a side strain. Also, Netherlands international Brandon Glover and all-rounder Jordan Clark offer useful pace options.
