Southern Brave has an array of outstanding players and a highly successful head coach in their ranks in the inaugural edition of The Hundred. T20 specialist Chris Jordan, pacer Jofra Archer, and in-form James Vince are the key domestic players in the squad. Meanwhile, the overseas players consist of dashing left-handed batsmen Quinton de Kock and Devon Conway and Kiwi all-rounder Colin de Grandhomme.
Vince was outstanding against Pakistan in the final two ODIs as he struck a half-century and a hundred. He carried his form into the Vitality Blast, scoring 63 and 102 against Essex and Sussex, respectively, on Friday. Conway, too, has been piling up runs recently. The 30-year-old has struck four half-centuries in eight innings in the Vitality Blast. Also, the presence of De Kock will add to the woes of the bowlers.
With Archer unlikely to feature in every match, Tymal Mills and Jordan will be shouldering the responsibilities in Southern Brave’s bowling department. Pacer Craig Overton will be keen to impress after a decent outing against Pakistan in the ODI series. Spin duo Jake Lintott and Danny Briggs, who have picked up 30 wickets between them in the Vitality Blast, is also likely to play a huge role.
