Half-centuries from Rovman Powell and Nicholas Pooran went in vain as India sealed the T20I series with an eight-run win in the second T20I. Batting first, the hosts lost Ishan Kishan, R Sharma, and Suryakumar Yadav within the opening ten overs. However, V Kohlii's half-century and a 76-run stand between Rishabh Pant, who struck a 27-ball fifty, and Venkatesh Iyer steered India to 186/5.

Pooran and Powell stabilized the run chase after Indian spin duo Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravi Bishnoi removed the openers. With 53 runs needed from 24 balls, the left-hand and right-hand pair made 16 runs off Deepak Chahar. But Bhuvneshwar Kumar broke the 100-run partnership with Pooran's wicket and gave away only four runs in the 19th over. Despite consecutive sixes by Powell in the final over, West Indies fell short by eight runs.
