Three or more cards of the same suit in a row constitute a sequence. For instance, a series of spades would be 7, 8, and 9.
During their turn, a player may place a meld, a collection of sets and sequences, on the board.
A card a player decides to remove from play after their round. Any player may pick up discarded cards that have been laid face up on the table.
A card taken at the start of a player's turn from the deck or the discard pile.
A card that may be used to complete a set or sequence by substituting for any other card.
A player may "knock" to finish the game if they believe they have a hand with all their cards in sets and sequences.
Players who knock and have all their cards in sets and sequences have a "Gin" hand and are awarded bonus points.
