Indian batter Virat Kohli became the fastest batsman to reach 13,000 ODI runs during the Asia Cup Super 4 clash against arch-rival Pakistan.
Kohli achieved the feat in just 277 innings, breaking the record of fellow Indian veteran Sachin Tendulkar, who took 321 innings to reach the milestone.
Kohli reached his 13,000th ODI run with a double off Pakistan bowler Shaheen Afridi. He finished the innings unbeaten on 122, his 47th ODI century.
Kohli is now the third-highest run-scorer in ODI history, behind Tendulkar (18,426 runs) and Ricky Ponting (13,704 runs). He is also the fastest to 10,000 ODI runs (205 innings) and 11,000 ODI runs (222 innings).
Kohli will be looking to continue his record-breaking run in ODI cricket. He will also be hoping to lead India to victory in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
