With just two top-four finishes in 14 seasons, Punjab hold the perennial underachievers tag in the Indian T20 League. The Mohali-based outfit, who finished runners-up in 2014, were the only franchise not to retain an overseas player from the 2021 season. They added firepower to the batting department by buying Shikhar Dhawan, Jonny Bairstow, Liam Livingstone, and Shahrukh Khan in the mega auction. Also, Punjab added Kagiso Rabada, Rahul Chahar, Odean Smith, Nathan Ellis, Sandeep Sharma, etc., to their roster.
Punjab will travel to DY Patil Stadium for their tournament opener against Bangalore on March 27. In their next two games, they meet Kolkata and Chennai. The franchise will play twice against Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Gujarat, and Hyderabad.
